Ballifield Parent & Teacher Association
Ballifield Primary School’s parents and carers are key assets to the school and a group of parents/carers have joined together with school staff to form the Ballifield Primary School Parent & Teacher Association (PTA) which has been in existence since 2008. As soon as your child is enrolled with the school you automatically become a member of the PTA.
One of the main aims of the PTA is to raise funds for the school through organising various events and activities for the whole family, such as Easter, Summer and Christmas Fayres, Discos and Fashion Shows. To date, the PTA has raised over £20,000 which has been used to fund equipment and various activities such as:
- bookcases throughout the school
- new play equipment and outside planters for our Reception children
- annual Pandemonium stage performances for the whole school
- furniture for The Haven Nurture Room
- creating a new garden
- Nursery play items and storage
- donation to the Y6 leavers' discos
- new nativity costumes for KS1 children
- substantial donation the KS2 Adventure Playground
- new reading books for KS2
- new library books for the whole school.
We are planning on using further funds to purchase more equipment and improve the other outdoor spaces around the school.
In the run up to an event the group meet up at school most Mondays at 6.00pm, everyone is welcome to attend and the meetings are very informal. If you cannot commit to attending regular meetings due to work commitments or childcare this is not a problem we are happy to see you whenever you are free to join us and lend a hand. Any help however big or small is appreciated.
Ballifield PTA is for everyone so if you are interested in joining the PTA or would like more information please get in touch with the school office and come along to the next meeting.
Ballifield prides itself on its PTA group and the commitment given by both parents and staff and we hope that with your help and support the good work may continue for many years to come.
